and the thing is, representatives from other schools tell you to go look at another teams message board when certain things are posted. who would have thought this was done. i would not have believed it before this year. this goes much deeper then you would think. compliance people monitor these boards all the time. i have personally talked to compliance people from a few schools this year. when they see certain things posted, they have to make sure they are protecting their school and finding out that the stuff is true or not
this is a a quote from dmitch..Rueben Randle's older brother. LINK
you idiots who claim your words on this board don't effect recruits or get back to recruits can eat your words now. that includes trashing the coaches, current players, recruits, or scheme every chance you get. if you can't be reasonable and constructive in your criticism, get the frick off this board because you ARE a detriment to the program...like it or not

I heard a story once that some schools employ lurkers to go on boards posing as a fan of a school for the soul purpose of creating arguments so if recruits do read the boards they might get a negative feeling or opinion for that school. Whenever I read a RR thread I always think of that story.... be careful not to be sucked in...

I have news for you. Recruits don't need to come to Tigerdroppings.com and read posts from anonymous fans to know that the defense was horrendous this season. That was patently obvious from the result on the field. Similarly, it wasn't necessary to visit the internet to determine that LSU fans were displeased with the coaching staff. The booing and lack of attendence took care of that.
In any event, most of what is posted here can also be found in newspapers, mainstream internet sites like ESPN, blogs, radio shows, and any number of other media outlets. It's absurd to suggest that all dialogue concerning LSU needs to be censored in order to protect recruiting.
And DMITCH never said that any recruits actually base their decisions on internet tripe.

i guessing you are one of the people who bitch and whine about the team and completely disregard the possible consequences? I'm just pointing out that the crap posted on this board will NOT change anything for the better...only possibly for the worse if players and recruits get a hold of it. this is just another example to go along with the other examples of current players who have exuded their displeasure with the garbage posted on this board. I'm just asking people to think about the tone and content before they post.

If a recruit doesnt sign because of what he reads on a message board then frick him...... Thats a lame arse excuse.

i have news for you...players and recruits don't like to be bashed. i never said anything about smothering criticism. if you would read my post again, i said reasonable or constructive criticism was fine. its the shite like "LEE sucks" or constant negativity that is unacceptable. I'm sorry I don't have proof that if affects a recruit's decision but you have to think recruits will think twice about going to play for a negative or fairweather fanbase. its just another factor. its a shame that RR's mother got upset from reading some of the shite on this board and you have to be a fool to think that doesn't leave a bad taste in RR's and his parent's mouths. little shite like that CAN sway a tight race imo.

And I hate to tell you that EVERY school has fans like this. So just bc one school has a bigger forum than the other, where more opinions are heard, they are more fairweather?

wow...i was right.
i never said it would be the only reason. why keep justifying your actions? there has been a shitload of proof that it does get back to recruits and current players...that should be enough to effect your approach right there. if it doesn't, frick you for not caring about these kids.

If you think that shite like this doesn't affect the way a person and/or his family thinks about this university...whether it's reasonable or not, or whether it's subconscious or not...your a fricking moron.

Whats my approach? Im not bashing anyone, just pointing out how stupid it is for a recruit to change his mind because of a message board.

Why should I care if they get their feelings hurt? They chose to play football at a major university, they chose to put themselves out there, and almost all of them have intentions on playing pro ball.... If you cant handle what assinine fans say then you should really reconsider your goals in life.

I'll bet you had it all figured out when you were 17, huh? I'll bet that you were in the NATIONAL spotlight every second of every day, and I'll bet that during that period, nothing that anyone said about you affected you at all.
Yeah...I'll bet you mastered the art of ignoring criticism at the tender age of 12, didn't you?

there are some lunatics out there on web sites like this one, and recruits have to realize that
they cant let it keep them from attending a university that will only benefit them
Therefore, it is a lame excuse to not attend a school over a couple things some jacknob typed

Did I say I was, no..... But that is of their choosing. And if the kid isnt mature enough to make the decision, I would sure as hell hope his parents would have the balls to lead him in the right direction and help him way the pros/cons.

Yeah, well, hope in one hand and shite in the other. See which one fills up first.
You have a great view of how it SHOULD be, but no vision into how it IS or COULD BE. arse-U-ME.
