I don’t know if Dad being coach would help, but she usually gets 40 shots per game:

I swear I don’t know how some of you can even navigate this website. The game log you just linked shows she has zero games with 40+ shot attempts

I swear, if you can’t read basic stat pages, maybe you should stay off the sports board.

Career FG attempts per game
CC - 19.9
Pete- 38.1

Career total FG attempts
CC - 2567
Pete - 3166

Career FG%
CC- 47%
Pete- 43%

Once again, I think it’s dumb that the men vs women comparison is being made here, but if you are going to bring up the 3-PT line, you have to acknowledge the stark difference in shot attempts as well.

The truth was, Pete Maravich was a very good player in a perfect situation. He was the best player on a bad team and his dad was the head coach.

Once again, Pete was obviously a very good player, but I think there are several guys who could replicate what he did in the same situation.

For instance, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar averaged 27 PPG in college on 64% shooting and only 16.8 FG attempts per game. Now imagine he gets 38 attempts per game like Pete did. Of course, his FG% would go down, but I think it’s safe to say he would match or surpass Pete’s scoring mark with ease.

Elvin Hayes took 28 shots & averaged 38 pts/ game on 55% shooting on a good squad.

Johnny Neumann of Ole Miss during this same era ( SEC segregated) averaged 40 pts per game on 34 attempts per & more efficiently( 46%) than Pete. People need to put this shot jacking of Pistol into perspective. I don't understand the defensiveness about this.
