Can you expound a little on what exactly she did that indicated she lost respect?

FWIW I agree with you by and large: women need security and stability because they generally lack it on their own and if you are going to be vulnerable you better know the state of your woman beforehand. But I also think if you consistently provide that to her, infrequent and brief periods of struggle shouldnt diminish your standing.

Emotional distance, treating me with kid gloves, coddling, not letting me do my normal tasks. Just treating me like it was fragile.

I was in a pretty bad space but I could still function day to day.

It’s all good now, I have better methods to cope and set some boundaries at work.

But I will still never let the veneer slip again.
