Don't make that drive without checking their calendar first Clark. They don't open til April 20th.
Kings Island Calendar
If you're traveling up 75, Cumberland Falls State Resort Park is nice. It's near Corbin KY. Not far from the interstate. The only place in the western hemisphere with a moonbow. Kissed my wife for the first time there! The Dupont Lodge and the Riverview Restaurant is very nice too.
If you want to get off the beaten path, head east to Harlan County and tour Portal 31 - an underground coal mine tour. I took friends from AL there in Oct. From Corbin, it's about 1.5 hour drive.
Louisville has Kentucky Kingdom, an amusement park, but I haven't been there since the 80s. I've been to Mammoth Cave. You need time to setup cave tours. Louisville has a bunch of museums. Louisville Slugger Museum is cool. Lexington has the horse park. Bourbon distilleries all in Central KY. Cinci has a great zoo.
