Also depends on whether it is proximal or distal.

Distal pancreatic lesions can be removed with a relatively straightforward procedure (they will also remove the spleen).


Proximal tumors (if they are a surgical candidate) need a Whipple procedure (which is very complex with biliary component, bowel diversion and such).

My dad had one November of 2020 for a 6.5 cm tumor and he went onto the table at 289. He came out after recovery at 170. He’s still cancer free so far but he will never eat the same again and I think that’s sapped him of happiness. Also maybe because my mom is a lunatic.
