i get the argument on defense, but their ORtg together is below 90. How is that possible?

Its asinine to think this is all the players. Majority of this is scheme and coaching.

No one has said it’s all players .
It’s an issue from the top down.
This franchise has begged for a new coach for the last 10 + years and here we are again .
Again Willie is not perfect but he is not the biggest problem .

No one is getting rid of the owner and Griff is likely not getting fired. But yes we can get rid of Willie and try to find a more competent head coach with one of the deeper teams we’ve had in the history of this franchise.

The coach is always the first to go and it typically doesn’t make that much of a difference . Inevitably a year or 2 later the gm gets fired or teams start to trade players realizing that is where the change will get the most results .
This team will have its highest finish since 07-08 and is on pace for 50 wins. So he is getting results out of this deep team.
What separates the Top 4 teams from the pelicans is top end talent . They have players at the top that are better players than BI and Z and/ or complement each other better .
Ant
Shai
PG, Kawhi, Harden
KD , Booker
Jokic, Murray

Do you not feel the coaches for the thunder and wolves had a part in Shai and Ant developing the way they have? The clippers when Harden got there were horrendous- did Ty Lue not have a huge part in figuring that out?
Was Malone not a big part of the Nuggets winning the chip?
I’ll just say this name me a game or a team this season where did the pels have a strategical advantage from a coaching standpoint? Theres a case to be made we’re winning despite Willie’s coaching issues not because of his coaching.

Yep, it's why i don't get that worked up over willie. At the end of the day Zion and ingram arent even top 30 players. That puts a hard cap on your ceiling.

You’re not wrong but I guess whats the easier solution? Getting rid of BI/Zion or finding a coach that can help those players reach that plateau?

Yeah it's easier to fire the coach but you don't win in this league by making the easy decisions. You win by making the hard ones that other people wouldnt make.
It's not like willie is holding back a prime Lebron or Curry with his coaching. He's holding back 2 guys that cant even make an all star team.
I dont think this team is that far from it's ceiling. My main takeaway in like 80% of our losses is that Zion and BI are just not good enough. I think Phil Jackson or Pop is winning like 52-55 games max with this squad and a 2nd round out.

I don’t completely disagree but I also look at this organization realistically. I just don’t see them trading both those guys and basically starting over. If Griffin tried to do that- I’m sure ownership would be like what the hell are you doing? Which just makes the point that yes ownership is an issue. But we also know Gayle and/or ownership crew (whoever that is) isn’t going anywhere. Hence the realistic option of finding a coach that can somehow push these guys to take the next step.
