I think they mean if LSU has a mediocore offense.
It is still way too early to know if this team is going to hit better.
And we probably will not know until SEC play. Friday at Texas will be our first real test, let's see.

Hit better? They just tied the record for hits in a game and put up 18 runs against Stoney Brook and their batting average is .333.
All the talk of this team not hitting good is an over reaction to a couple games where the weather was not favorable and the players were impatient at the plate. Tanks, our nation leading RBI batter from last year didn't even swing a bat for six months or more because of his shoulder surgery. Couple that with a younger more inexperienced lineup and it will take a bit to get the guys rolling.
Jay will have the guys consistently hitting well by SEC play.

In baseball I don’t think any one game is a “real test” to decide whether a team can hit well. Not any more so than for an individual hitter. Even Crews had hitless days at the plate. Just too small a sample size.
