I used to tell people that the best option is to buy your own plane for training as I was fortunate that I found a young CFI with his own plane (PA-28-160) just trying to build time to make the jump to airline. Once he got called up, I bought the plane from him (18 hours total at the time) and found a new independent CFI.

HOWEVER, this was in 2016 and I bought the plane for $22k. That same plane today would be $50-$60k.It was absolutely perfect for me, and I used it to build tons of hours but likly not as feasible today.

Now I am in a 4 person partnership on a PA-28-235 (250hp conversion) at NEW and absolutely love it.

Of course, most partnerships don't want student pilots due to the potential wear and tear on the plane.
