He can do that and still do a paid gig through a memorabilia shop/show too. There's a lot of people who collect memorabilia and don't have time to go to games, try to get seats close enough to the dugout, and hope that they'll have a chance for an autograph. Easier to just do it through one of these signings if you're a collector. Plus a lot of players aren't as likely to stop to sign for adults as they would be to sign for younger fans.

I disagree. This is a perfect example of what NIL was supposed to be (and should have been).

Exactly. He’s clearly profiting off his name, image, and likeness. Rather than being fed a deal as bait to play for a certain school

Also, theres a 99% chance you will get a much better looking signature, with a much better pen, at a signing.
