I’m floored by the pace of episode 5. They managed to fit so much shite into a 55 minute run time. I felt like I’d been watching for way longer. Not a single wasted scene. The character development in this show is as good as I’ve seen.

I know I'm preaching to the choir, but this show is incredible. I am not familiar with the source novel, so it's all new to me.
That dinner scene with Buntaro (one bad motherfricker) was so tense.
The gardner/pheasant situation really makes you feel for just how lost Blackthorne really is.

We watched all 5 episodes today, and it kept our attention the entire time. Your definitely right about no wasted scenes, I had to pause it when I left the room because I didn’t want to miss anything.
