The Roman Empire didn’t form until after Octavian became Augustus Caesar but the Roman Republic died well before that.

Whether the inflection point was the Idea of March, Caesar crossing the Rubicon, or something else can be debated but the Republic was clearly dying and it was just a matter of who would come out on top of the civil wars between the Caesar-Antony side and that of the conspirators like Cassius and Brutus.



Trying to take out Trump for the sake of “saving Democracy” just breaks the representative republic permanently.
