IMO .... If you will mainly be using this for at home / small gatherings, I would get something small. 37,000 GTU's max.

I bought this burner [LINK ] a few years ago. For just frying some fish for my wife and I, it is too big.

After using it a few times and struggling to adjust a very low flame to control the temperature, I came up with an idea. I got a bunch of small nails and put a nail in about half the burner holes. This blocked off about 1/2 the gas flow, and I could better control the grease temperature.

FYI --- this size burner does good for boiling small batches of shrimp or crabs. I have the larger size burner for boiling crawfish.
