Some of y’all are forgetting Smith played like a future All American and Top 10 NFL pick his freshman season. He had 19 tackles, 5 TFL, and 4 sacks in just 7 games his true freshman year. It wasn’t until the last 2 years he didn’t amount to much. Injury and no DL coach will hinder a players development.

Yep, looked like a future star as a TR FR. Some have downplayed his stats due to some of them coming against rent-a-games like McNeese but I remember strong pushes up the middle against quality opponents. Having said that, some come back as good as new from ACL surgeries, some not. By the end of the 2023 season, it has been 1.25 years. Is that long enough, some say 2 years. All I can say is he should have come back for his RS JR season because it all comes down to the combine. He looked like a ghost of his self this season...basically just occupying space at the LOS. That ain't good for him.
