I got covid early, like the county health department called me early.
I worked for a fortune 250 company. (Doesn't mean I'm wealthy) and had a 1 year no compete. My boss suggested they may do mandates.
I left the company two weeks later, put up garage doors for a year then started my own business.
My previous employer called me for 6 months trying to get me to reconsider, explaining they decided against the mandates.
The simple fact of someone that knew me, suggesting they, (not a doctor) could dictate my personal health decisions was all the motivation I needed to go out on my own.

I'm one of 3 boys that came up on a hog farm in the middle of nowhere Kansas.
My wife (no pics) is from California. We made a trip out to L.A. for a funeral during the height of covid.
We headed into a high class seafood joint per the wife's request. The Placard outside said vaccine card required.
Walked in and the man at the door asked if I had my card handy. I smiled and said "what do you think?"
His response- "right this way sir."
