Well unfortunately basspro apparently doesn’t carry .224 Valkyrie and that’s where my gift card is so I’ll have to get something else

I only have one AR and it is 5.56. If I was to get another one I would get it in 9mm being I have more ammo and guns of this caliber. I am trying to keep it simple with less different caliber ammo to worry about.

100%. That day's coming. I'm 57 and i do think it will be in my lifetime.
Way too many (off the record) weapons to ever round up, but they can make ammo very hard to get. That will be how they institute gun control.
As long as you stay off the radar, you'll probably be safe to keep weapons at home, but if you ever get on a "list" they're gonna be on your arse. There'll be programs to rat out your friends, family and neighbors.
This needs to be preached over and over to the kids.
I am still teaching mine to reload and starting to teach the grandkids too.
You know you've got'em hooked when they bring you buckets of brass, already sorted, every time they come for a visit.
Five is all you need.
22LR
5.56x45
7.62x51
9mm
12 Gauge
Lots of that.
After that you're rolling the dice post shtf and/or during a shortage.
With the new military 277 Fury coming on board with its caseless cartridge technology .... brass and reloading is about to suffer as well.

.223/5.56
.300 BO
6.5 Grendel
.45acp
Enough spare parts to let freedom ring if that time was to ever come. Keep 5k rounds of each on ice rotate when I find good deals and stay tuned up with the older stock.
