One, if not both, of these provisions can affect the Social Security benefit for a Municipal pension retiree or the surviving spouse of a Municipal pension retiree in Louisiana.

It's not just Louisiana. I will have a municipal pension and am looking to retire at 54. If I go into the private sector and work until I'm 65 after retirement, my SS would be cut drastically as the FedGov would keep most of it as basically a donation. The thought behind it is that the person who earned it really doesn't need it and the old border crosser that never contributed to the system does.

Doing that right now. “Donating” over $5,000 a year to SS/FedGov and I won’t get much, if any, back. Will have worked enough quarters pre and post State employment to draw.

Graves has more than enough support in Congress, and most everyone sees the injustice; but anything that will draw more money out of SS ain’t going to pass.

At this point, just let me not contribute now. I’ll donate what I paid earlier in life.
