“I wanted to kill everyone,” Sapochnik said. “I wanted to kill Jorah in the horse charge at the beginning. I was up for killing absolutely everyone. I wanted it to be ruthless, so that in the first 10 minutes you say, ‘All bets are off; anyone could die.’ And David and Dan didn’t want to. There was a lot of back-and-forth on that.” Dumb and Dumber.
Hadn't heard that before, interesting. I like the way Jorah went out, it was pretty fitting. I'm trying to think of what other main characters they could have killed off that would have had a fairly complete story arc at that point. Brienne probably, that would have been emotional for Jamie and would have made his dumb return to Cersei make a little more sense. Jamie too honestly. Davos maybe. Could have shocked everyone and killed Tyrion in the crypts. I would have loved for Bran to die. He was a zombie at that point and had n interest in anything other than being the three eyed raven, which makes his character wanting/accepting being the king even dumber than it already was. Tormund probably could have died as well.
