It’s going to boil down to who drafts him and what defense they run, I suppose.

I mean…most scouts have him pegged as a NT, man. He’s got the body profile for it. How many 3 tech DTs are over 320 pounds?

Chris Jones: 6’6 310
Quinnen Williams: 6’3 305
Javon Hargrave: 6’2 300
Jeffrey Simmons: 6’4 305
Cam Heyward: 6’5 295
Christian Wilkins 6’4 310
Jonathan Allen: 6’3 300

Granted, those are the elite of the elite but none of those guys is even over 315, let alone 360 like Sweat. Here are some comps for him for size:

Dexter Lawrence: 6’4 345
Vita Vea: 6’4 347

Both of those guys are Nose Tackles. Sweat is gonna be a Nose Tackle. Doesn’t matter what he played in college. So my point still stands. NT at 14 is bad value. Would still love him because I think he’s going to be great but it’s still bad value. If we were picking in the 20s, I’d be ALL IN

He did predominantly play in the b gap at Texas.

In the nfl to play there he is going to have to learn some pass rushing moves. He really doesn't have any.

I think he will probably be a 2nd rounder.

Every defense doesn’t deploy a NT, it’s just premature to pigeon hole the guy there when he dominated college playing the B gap. I get it’s easy to default to NT with a guy that big.

Sweat didn’t weigh in Mobile, leads you to believe he’s working to get the weight down come April. But you don’t have to look far back to find heavy 3 tech DTs. Jordan Davis and Mazi Smith. The sumo DTs are a thing of the past; only the athletic freak ones make it, that’s why you can count them on one hand
