That’s not extreme. For example, the only thing speed runners kill in Anor Londo is the one silver knight archer. They quick bait the first rafter guardians and jump directly from the rafter down to the platform to skip the last ones

I draw a distinction between speed running strats and simply internalizing what my chosen undead is here for: ring the bells, get the lord vessel, gather the lord souls, kindle the first flame. (And kill all the optional bosses, but bosses are different)

If there are things that step into a doorway and I can’t move past them, they die. If they are going to quickly chase me from behind, they die.

But if I can just trot past them and never worry about turning back around? I think my chosen undead would simply trot on by. Killing every mosquito, cragspider, leech, and barbarian in lower blight town doesn’t strike my chosen undead as a good use of his time

I mean...I was pretty clear. It's an extreme...to me, and it's not fun...to me, to run past everything.

I don't worry about the blobs and mosquitos and all that stupid shite, and I'll avoid the basilisks and shite that'll annoy me, but if you have things to drop on my first pass through an area, I'm fighting it. I'm not playing the game for end goals and boss fights, I'm playing for my own personal enjoyment which doesn't include sprinting through areas to reach goals.

Also, I've been pretty clear, again, that I am playing the game for the 2nd time. You, on the other hand, have been clear that you've played many times to the point where you can beat the game in 7 hours. Two different players with two different levels of experience.

If I personally wanted to do that, I'd play Super Mario Wonder.
