A Tesla pulled out in front of me (I was doing under 15mph), and it was $25k in damage to my two fiddy, and almost ten weeks of rental costs, paid for by Tesla driver's insurance. That's more than a third of what the truck cost to begin with. My recent renewal is at 3500 ish a year with no drivers other than me on the policy (no accidents, at fault or not, since 2001.)

Agreed but I'm sure replacement costs will at least be part of the coverage amount. I'd put my kids in older cars if I was worth 15 million anyway. At least for the first few years. 75% of them screw them up.
