The Quad was out of MAB's possession for over a decade, it was stolen while on tour with Nitro in El Paso, TX, in the early 1990s. It turned up about 10 years later on a local pawn shop wall for $225. It eventually got back to MAB after its true identity was confirmed.
Ritz guitars were made by Wayne Charvel and another SoCal luthier in 1988 and 1989. They only made about 150 guitars total. I don't know if MAB's Quad was considered and/or is serialized as one guitar or four guitars. The Quad detaches into separate necks/pieces for easier casing and transport.
The Quad also had Gibson-stamped bolt-on plates, left over from Wayne's very short-lived collaboration with Gibson, aka the Gibson WRC.
The coolest of the Ritz run was their shell covered guitars. AKA like Gibson's block and trap inlay material on high-end LPs and SGs ... except body wraps ...
Here's its precursor, the Gibson WRC. I owned one identical to this one back in the day.
