Who believes next year is Miles' last?

I believe next year will be his last. With that said, the program would be much better off if Miles hits a home run with his third DC decision and he is successful for many years to come.
However, those of us with eyesight and a TV or season tickets have to be concerned with what we saw on the field and on the sidelines this year. Poor coaching = lack of trust = lack of discipline = no leadership. Oklahoma State had to dismiss "several" (wiki said it was 11) players in the first year after Miles left for grades and behavior.
As many posters have rightfully pointed out, his prior accomplishments have earned him a mulligan. But the flip side of that coin is that he also earned a 3-5 SEC record this year with a talent laden team that gave up on him.
The one thing that gives me hope - too much money riding on the success of the program and we have a new blood in the administration. If Miles hasn't had the come to Jesus ultimatum from influential supporters of the program and the administration, it needs to happen.
Miles can recruit and if he can set aside his blind loyalty and surround himself with coaches who are widely seen as the top quartile (Pelini and Crowton) for their specialty, he will be the Mack Brown of the SEC. He is not going to beat you with x's and o's nor will you see him develop young coaches into future HCs, but he will keep the program very competitive and consistent for a long time.

Why don't you wait until next year to bitch, b/c you know he ain't leaving this year?

You cant get blood out of a turnip. No matter what Miles did the year was not going to get any better with the play at QB. He will be back. LSU is not going to fire him he has did a pretty decent job at LSU>

duck.
LSU will be a righted ship next year. By righted, I mean competitive and a 10 win season. If we don't win a division crown in two years, then Miles should feel the heat. Reason beings, we will have a veteran QB and a DC who will have his stamp all over that side of the ball. With the talent on board and coming on the next couple of years, we should see drastic improvement from this year. If we don't then that is when you have to start hitting the eject button on Miles.

And pay him the millions of dollars we would owe him and his staff and then the cost of hiring another staff? He'd had to do something really dumb to get canned.

Please go take a long walk off of a short cliff. You will not be missed

I believe next year is his last, unless economics get in the way of performance as Rocket pointed out. Miles' blind loyalty will override his potential for becoming the Mack Brown of the SEC.

Why are you even on this board, seriously? You are the worst poster in the history of mankind. You're always bitching about something. You're an idiot

Payout next year is $15M? I think LM stays regardless.

Seriously, how could it be his last year? What makes you believe next year is going to be as bad as this year? I am really starting to get tired of people bringing this up. What is even funnier is that they will be the first ones to jump back on the wagon when we are winning again.

I believe a lot of things.
1. I believe the children are our future.
2. I believe that our problems this year were
obvious and will be corrected.
3. I believe that we have the most talented class
arriving in the NCAA
4. I believe that the only thing that could make
a coach with heart and talent like Miles leave
is reading this board and seeing the classless
and stupid ranting of what is usually a great
fanbase.
5. I believe LSU will contend for SEC title next
year and National Championship the year after.
6. I believe in Les Miles and LSU.
c'est tout.
