RPSO just arrested an illegal on I49 carrying carrying only 70k worth of herroin. $3200 bail.
The sheriff level is a good place to start this, as they work independently of the terribly corrupt big cities etc. if they produce results and don't piss people off, they'll stay in office.
A sheriff can tell pretty much anyone to get themselves good and fricked.
Empowering them is a solid step, but there needs to be others, like making sure the right sheriff is in place.
It was always true, but covid really showed us nationally how important these positions can be.
Local elections matter, especially sheriff, mayor, School board and the gatekeeping positions those positions allow them to fill with their people.
