Big Ag and animal cruelty

Greenwald YouTube 23min
Watched this video the other day from Greenwald on cruel treatment of animals in agriculture. I thought there were laws on this. I found things like the Animal Welfare Act, but these things seem to deal with animals outside of the ag sector.
He discusses things like gestation crates, which are worse than prison cells. Animals, such as pigs, are kept in them and they can't move - at all. This is torture. I thought this practice had been abandoned long ago, but companies like Smithfield still use these. Pigs literally go crazy in them, bashing up against them, biting the bars, etc.
I will never buy Smithfield products ever again. They issued a declaration almost 20 years ago that they would phase them out and they never did. I was under the impression that massive reform had taken place in animal agriculture, and that the main issue remaining was researching the most humane way of harvesting the different species in ag. I was wrong. Naturally Congress will do nothing because of the campaign donations involved.
I thought there might be others here under the impression these practices had stopped, and might like to know that they haven't.
It's a bad sign for a society to tolerate this type of treatment of the vulnerable, whether it's the very young, very old, sick, injured, or animals.

Well Smithfield was bought out by a Chinese entity so I promise that unless they are forced to meet regulations related to animal cruelty it’s not going to happen.

There’s plenty of shitty ag companies out there that treat animals horribly. I know a guy who works for Fairlife and I enjoy sending him pictures of happy cows grazing on grass and reminding him that he works for a bunch of satanic assholes who torture animals.

You send him pictures of happy cows?
Just the happy ones? How can you be sure they are happy? Maybe they are miserable but are hiding it? Did you ask?
On a site known for idiocy, you sir or madam, have just won the grand prize.

All our cows are happy. All grass fed, don’t sell to stock yards or pump them full of bullshite. The only time they get a little mad is when theres calf’s around and one of the dogs starts fricking with them.
I guess you’re a big fan of penned up animals that get abused. That’s cool I guess.

Halfway through the watch, glenn doesn't know how to pronounce sow and referred to Vietnam as North Korea.
He's slipping.
Going to push through to the end though.

Ever drive behind a truckload of chickens, that'll make you think.

The pigs should be kept in large pens where we feed them pedophiles.

Quick fact check-
Yes Glenn Greenwald is a vegan.
He's a homosexual expat vegan who is also a libertarian, except for this one thing... just like most libertarians.

But then some poor bastard is going to get a side of bacon that came from a hog that ate Hank and Transboy

That’s okay as long as it’s cooked properly.

Never, ever Smithfield. China owned. I posted on them previously.

Sows go into gestation crates late in gestation so when they farrow the piglets aren't squished by the sow.
They don't spend the entire time they are pregnant in the crates. It isn't efficient.
