She really is a sweet heart. I have a German shepherd too but keep them apart unless the pit has to go potty outside. The shepherd snapped at her. The pit just bowed her head like her feelings were hurt. You can't yell at her. She well mope around and stay in the closet. I've been around dogs my whole life, and know how to pick up signs from them. People that put their face next to a dog is stupid unless they know the signs.

If a dog is nervous or insecure, might get bit. But that is any breed. On the first day I met this pit, I just walked normally too her, and she showed submissive behavior off the bat. Kept her outside and tested her moods. Saw how she is around food and etc.

She has no food aggression at all. You can pet her head, grab her ears. Nothing. Then when she is done eating, she will attack you with licks like she is saying thank you. Being abused was rough on her. She has nightmares every night. I figured she is about 8 or 9 years old. She probably only has a few years left. So just trying to make those few years happy for her. I've only been around one other put that acted like her. I think being a female has a lot to do with it too. Not as aggressive as makes.

Iam not on a crusade for pits. Just this one lonely pit that just wanted some one to care for. Happy it worked out
