Virginia and North Carolina? We’d need to ramp up our lacrosse programs….

In all seriousness, Virginia offers really good baseball and basketball. Their football program is abysmal. North Carolina offers elite basketball, a very respectable baseball program, and a football program that has some potential.

One issue the Big Ten and SEC are facing is that, say what you will, Notre Dame is the winning prize that remains. How would taking on a couple of ACC schools affect your conference structure? You want to leave a seat at the table for them.

Imo the real prize is Miami. National brand and they can get competitive in football pretty quickly if they made the investment to do so. Adds a different market which Florida state and Clemson do not. I think that’s the play. Miami and then a Virginia Texh maybe.
