Go ask CBK who LITERALLY brought in a RB to start over Williams last season and will do it again in the spring

If you want to say Josh Williams sucks, I don't give a shite. But he has started 10 games, so your post is incorrect.

No, he LITERALLY brought in a RB who he knew was good and knew his system and "let the chips fall where they may" as you suggested in your previous post. The chips fell to where Diggs was the starter. I don't think Williams was 100% last year. I'm pretty sure he got dinged up over the off-season and seemed to be a step slower and a bit heavier than he was in '22. Hopefully he has a fully healthy off-season this year and comes in closer to the guy we saw in '22. He may not be the bell cow who gets 15-20 carries/game, but he'll have a huge role in next year's offense.

And I agree with you that we should go get the best RB available in the portal in the spring. If you're gonna get somebody, why wouldn't you get the best available. But I don't think BK is looking for a starter all of a sudden now that Holly is out. He was going to be 4th string anyway--if BK felt like he needed to add a #1 RB, he would have already been more aggressive in the portal.

And I disagree with you that hoping Jackson develops is not a plan. It absolutely is. If you've listened to BK at all this offseason when he talks about the portal and how he wants to build his team, he makes it clear that at some point you have to trust your coaches' evaluations and their ability to develop the guys already on the roster. And Durham's a stud. He'll absolutely play. How much will obviously depend on how quickly he picks up the offense and learns to be dependable in pass pro.
