The thing is, Omega and Daybrook only have to pay off a couple of key legislators to carry their water (cough cough Connick and Orgeron), so it doesn’t even cost them that much. Our crooked legislators are masters of quid pro quo, so a vote protecting the pogie boats is repaid by a vote for some sort of graft or pork in the other legislators’ districts.
Anyone and everyone serving in a political office in Louisiana, state or local, is for sale. Anyone with half a brain can see that in no way do any of them represent the will of their constituents, unless it also enriches them personally.

Pogie boats provide a lot of jobs for Louisiana residents, which the board seems to be blind to.
