Any of you guys ever use this stuff? I just bought a cast iron hibachi grill bc I don't always want to fire up the big Recteq for a small, quick cook, so I got the hibachi. Ordered some binchotan charcoal to use with it. Haven't had a chance to fire it up yet to test out, but wondering if anyone has experience with it and thoughts on it.

Bonus points if you can tell me a place to buy the stuff locally in Baton Rouge.

is this the charcoal that looks like little dowels? If so it burns very hot which is what you want for a hibachi

Which hibachi did you get? There’s a cabin we like to rent in MS that has a cast iron one and I love that thing. I keep forgetting to research what’s available

It’s a high heat charcoal that puts out little flame and smoke.
If you are using it for small items, you can close vents on the grill and suffocate it, and use it again.
No idea where to find it in BR, but Coutelier in Nola usually has a few types. It’s not cheap for the real stuff
