Sometimes, but not when it comes to young men killing each other everyday across the country. That’s a home grown problem, and it doesn’t matter if takes place in the backwoods of Louisiana or in Baltimore. Events like today make the news but the others, not so much. Guns aren’t going anywhere but I’d bet if the family unit could magically go back to a time before LBJ slithered his way into power the country would be better off.

This country spends billions of dollars to create the culture we now possess. From almost infancy, children learn to control those joy sticks and proceed to blow the other guy's head off. Movies and TV have no moral of the story other than, "Go ahead, make my day." Gangs, even in our very small local communities are out of control, like greed through college football.

There has never been a more honest, succinct, and indicting description of today's society, "We reap what we sow."

Correct.

Nah. Fatherless homes and a culture that celebrates every immoral action is the problem. This is for all races.

I learned to shoot a gun at an early age, played video games, etc. So did all my friends. We all own guns to this day. We are told daily by the media, and the President, that people like us are the biggest threat to the country. This is also part of the problem. No accountability.

Believe me, IF people like me, my friends, and my family were the real problem, this would have been known decades ago.

video games are the least of our worries when it comes to causes of this. we have a segment of society that celebrates violence and even chooses to angry and dwell in it. I work at a low income, "diverse" school. Lately I find myself noticing alot of the student body seems to actively choose being angry and upset over being happy. like its more comfortable. thats a problem that runs deeper than fricking video games.

There are literally hundreds of millions of people that play violent video games and even more that watch violent TV shows. Especially in the US. The vast, vast majority aren’t coming close to committing gun violence.

We’ve had plenty of violence even before the advent of realistic looking violent games and tv shows/movies too. There are also quite a few of countries outside the US with high violent rate crimes even though some of these are nations are poorer ones without as large of the population that have tons of access to realistic modern violent media
