This is what I mean. A lot of people don't realize this and I am just making sure it's clear.

BTW, I am about to be 57 and have not once fertilized a lawn. Then again, I have always lived on Red River bottomland, so that may be the biggest difference.

You don’t have manipulate what he was trying to say. He fertilized and cut frequently so his lawn looked and felt amazing, not that it was a requirement.

He then went on to say that he backed off all of that and the lawn still looked great.

Wow I can’t believe I’m arguing on the Home and Garden board with someone who is

So, what were you trying to say here if I misinterpreted your intention?

What do you mean?
A lot of people don't realize what?
I can promise you that nothing is clear...

We only know, based on previous posts, that you think Bermuda is too much trouble. Were you implying that one fertilizer application per year and weekend mowing is too much maintenance? Are you trying to warn the homeowner that this is what he'll have to do in order to enjoy great bermuda?

I'd argue more people think that if you have bermuda, that the 2x mowing and regular fertilizing is a requirement. If you want a lawn like you see on thelawnforum.com then sure.

When I went down to single weekly cuts and almost no fertilizing, my only real complaint was the amount of clippings after a cut but overall it was a perfectly acceptable backyard lawn and probably looked better than 90% of the yards around me.
