My grandmother/aunt fell for the "Cocomo is in jail for a drunk driving arrest and needs $500 for bail" scam.

Nevermind that I have never been drunk once in my life, or that it was an unknown number. But my aunt went straight to the bank to withdraw money and was about to call them back with instructions on what to do with it...that's when she had a moment of clarity and called one of her sons (my cousin) and he called me and I was sitting at work, most likely on TD.

I told her that I was appreciative that she dropped everything and wanted to bail me out, but next time just call or shoot me a quick text to avoid a ton of headaches.

It amazed me that she almost fell for that, and opened my eyes to just how many people these assholes get money from.
