I have to give him credit. He’s finding new ways to lose.
Shoots 55% vs Alabama…loses by 17 because Alabama had 21 more FG attempts.
Tonight LSU, on the road, out-shoots Florida:
FG% - 51% to 49%
Three point % - 52% to 24% (made 7 threes to Florida’s 4)
FT% - 62% to 60%
And STILL lost because, again, they allowed an opponent to attempt significantly more FGs (68 to 55)
While I always disagree with such shallow analysis, John Brady always talks about how important it is to win the FG% battle. So he has to be losing his mind wondering how the frick LSU won that battle in the last two games and still lost? One in blowout fashion.
The answer is because McMahon seems to have an uncanny ability to find a way to cancel out good shooting nights. There have been multiple games this year where LSU has a higher FG% yet lost because of turnovers, terrible rebounding, and/or bad defense. He seems to be the anti-modern analytics master

I didn’t really understand the strategy of running with Bama. That strategy coupled with the fact they got killed on the boards made winning next to impossible. Throw in wrightsell’s 3’s and you get a blow out.
