This is Pykhtino station, it opened in 2023. It features a model of a TU-144 hanging above the escalators.

One thing that stands out about Russia today, is the amount of investment in public works. We for our part wasted twenty years, and a fortune, in Iraq and Afghanistan. We could have been building things and investing in America, but we didn't.

I believe this is the biggest takeaway that gets lost in the shuffle when we say america first. Why we as a country don’t feel the need to invest in ourselves rather than do the equivalent of buying cheap plastic shite from the dollar store is infuriating.

You could have all that money back and it wouldn't matter. They both cost about $100-150 billion per year. In 2022 just the federal student loan program cost $482 billion.

I'm find with cutting back our commitments, stop wasting lives, all of that, but defense spending, even counting those two wars, isn't our main problem. You could zero out our defense budget and we'd still have a deficit.
