Shop around at multiple dealers for the truck you want. Ask for their best price out the door for said truck you are looking at they have on lot - you should do all this over email/internet. Once you get prices, start comparing and use those to negotiate some if you need to for whatever reason you may have. Never know what someone might offer you in the end.
Use tools like truecar to see what people are paying for a particular truck in your area. Sometimes if you buy out of area you could potentially save more if inventory is higher elsewhere. Just be willing to travel some to get the best deal if thats what you're looking for. If you can save another grand or two off the price of the vehicle, it might even be worth it to go a few hours away to buy it in that instance.
