Kelly for 12 years at Notre Dame, he had 7 taken in the first two rounds. 4 drafted in round 1.

Les for his 11 years at LSU had one player taken in the First round, by an OL. Andrew Whitworth.

No familiarity with ND so maybe they had similar circumstances, but as an LSU fan you should know this doesn't tell the whole story:
Will Arnold was projected in the 3rd Rd. Career ended by injury.

Ciron was projected as a 1st rounder. Career ended by injury.

Chris Faulk's career cut short by injury. IDK where he would've been drafted had he not been injured but I don't think 2nd rd was unrealistic.

La'el - don't recall what happened with him but he should have been a high pick.

Trai Turner was a 3rd rd pick after playing only 2 seasons.

But as an LSU Fan you should know what happened to La’el. A girl was killed, somehow, it was thought he was involved.

As for everyone else, nothing at LSU compares to ND and their OL. One draft class Kelly had two OL taken in the second round, in another class he had two OL taken in the first round, one the 6th pick and one the 9th pick. Another class, he had three OL taken. LSU has never had anything even close to this.

In the 2000’s, LSU has only had 11 players drafted, Kelly has that many taken in his time at ND.

Another position Kelly excels with is the TE’s, having 8 drafted. From 1990 to the past draft, LSU has had 8 taken.

I like what is being done with the OL now, this has been long overdue. To take two true freshman, an have them starting on the same line in the SEC, that has been a pleasure to observe.
