I saw it a few years ago and enjoyed it, but I had to keep telling myself that it wasn't at all about the Wizard of Oz, but a fully separate IP. Thinking about it like that made it ok.

And yeah, the theater was full of purple and pink hair women (not exaggerating that or judging it) and lots of overweight women that were by themselves.

It caters to the bullied, so it's not surprising.
