I've seen Wicked on Broadway 8 times at least maybe more. I did it once with a black actress as Elphaba. Doesn't matter because she's green :)
I think doing this movie in two parts, released a year apart is the dumbest thing EVER.
Movie versions of Broadway shows usually stink although there are quite a few notable exceptions-West Side Story, Hairspray, Jersey Boys, I'm sure a few others. I thought Les Miz sucked, Phantom sucked, Mamma Mia sucked (largely due to miscasting of Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan)CATS phenomenally sucked, So I'm skeptical but hopeful with the movie version of Wicked.
