Is the job with an o&g operator? If so you'll be taken care of, but be mindful when (not if) oil hits 20/bbl all of it dries up.
Where in CENLA? I'm from Bunkie, and outside of my family I would have zero reason to live there again.
They've be working really hard at improving schools, parks, and other amenities to attract more talent out there.
If it's a big improvement from your current situation I say go for it.
