Admittedly don’t love McMahon but I’m happy to have a team.

That plays as a team and never quits.
They are not embarrassing like we have had in the past or last year.
Team plays as a Unit and he is mustering everything he can out of that talent.
At this point last year I wanted him gone like everyone else.
He is coaching well, and deserves a 3rd year no doubt.
Here is to continued improvement.

He was getting a third year almost no matter what. The players would pretty much have to refuse to play for him to not get a third year.
That being said, next year is for all the marbles. There will be no more excuses to make for him. He better show a dramatic turn around, and ability to recruit, or he's done.

Their defense says otherwise. Poor transition, poor at guarding the 3, poor at rebounding.

He inherited a roster with one player, the program was in shambles. We are two games under .500 in conference play and 4 of those losses are to teams that will be top 3 seeds in the NCAA tourny.
Theres not a single basketball coach in the world that couldve turned this program around quicker. Coach K in his prime would have the same record

We can get 7 SEC wins. We're not ready to beat the elite teams in the league yet. I think we can get UK at home if we play well. Gotta beat UGA, Miss. State & Mizzou at home, Vandy on road.

If you actually believe this you are clueless.

He is a damn good coach. We didn’t show quit today at all. This team is headed in the right direction.

You are clueless

Everyone conveniently forgets we were looking at big time NCAA probation when Mac took over. No players were coming here, or coaches either. Year 3 is the litmus test, Mac needs more talent.

Moral Victory McMahon!
Who needs numbers in the win column as long as feel good about how we payed.

Nice comeback. You can completely turn around a basketball program in one year. We are two years in.
You say no coach could do it, but we had a coach here that did it.

This isn’t 1995, that’s not how it works. First of all, NCAA sanctions don’t mean what they used to. Second, nobody gets three years to rebuild in the transfer portal era.
Arizona face the exact same uncertainty with their new coach. They seem to have handled it just fine.

He bought all his players and got caught....

Or even competitive against elite teams in the league. He is a decent coach for a mid-level conference. That is about it! He will be gone after another bad season next year about his first two ones. The basketball equivalent of Curley Hallman.

Maybe, maybe not. All comes down to recruiting and transfer portal.

Players don't give a shite about that because they can just leave and be immediately eligible now.

Nope. He gets a free pass year 1. Year 2 we should be seeing nice improvements in both talent and on court play. You can make arguments in both directions on this one. We are maybe, kind of, looking like an improved team in some instances. And then sometimes look like a bottom of the barrel team.
But yes. Next year is make or break.

It's a different world now... but it wasn't when Mac took over. Next year is key.
