Rare occasions that I can go very far, but if I can, I don't park in the space. I also don't park in the space if there are spaces available near the handicapped spaces.
I can't speak for people who abuse the system. It's imperfect, but I should not be punished because of that or attacked because you can't SEE my health issues. I have more than a few.
Temporary tags are available for some of the examples you give. Get one if you or your child need it. When you're healed up, toss it.
