Listened to 5 minutes of oral arguments.

This will easily be 7-2 or 8-1, with the justices hitting hard on the fact that there was no conviction (a case pending is not disqualifying).

Still goes against their previous decision that states should decide how they run elections.

But the Supreme Court can go against its own precedent nowadays, so it's not a surprise.

Both the House and the Senate voted to impeach Trump for inciting an insurrection. They just didn't have the two-thirds required to censure him.

You are wrong, here.

Running elections and taking away constitutional vested rights are not comparable

The Supreme Court could always do that.

That's how we got from Plessy to Brown and from Roe to Dobbs.
