As someone who is familiar with nursing homes, Either one of two things most likely happened:
1. The jacket was stolen and the nursing home is claiming it was donated. No facility would up and donate all of the residents belongings with a family being involved and not contacting them first.
2. The family did not go and pick up the residents belongings for some time and the facility donated them. This is the less likely of the two but something that happens all the time when things are sitting around for an extended period of time.
Unfortunately there is always more to the story in these situations. Maybe a rouge family member came in and took the jacket. The family will point the finger at the nursing home regardless of if they are wrong or not. Harvest Manor is a good facility overall.

Re: #2 - it was less than a week between death and the Facebook post
Re: more to the story - highly unlikely in this situation
