Whatever success Sue Gunter had at LSU was directly attributable to Pokey Chapman and Bob Starkey. Those two recruited and coached the teams.
Pokey was a young HC when she coached at LSU. She and Starkey made a good team. They had high level success but never won a NC. I think they would have had she continued at LSU.
That being said, Kim Mulkey is a top 5 all time WBB HC and hall of famer.

This is completely false! Sue Gunter was a very good coach.

Both generational talent that won't come along very often.

I would argue sue gunter had two of the greatest basketball players to ever come through LSU in Walker and white. As far as I know, the only two that played with or first invited to play with the Harlem Globe Trotters. Joyce Walker could beat all of your asses on here. Joyce Walker was better than Simone Augustus.
This Williams kid right now is better than Simone Augustus was when she left LSU.
