imo rivals isn't about getting shite right so much as making money. they start to pump up 1 place and inflate them to get more visitors and more members. Im not saying they are completely fixed and shite but I highly doubt that pumping up a team isn't partly to get more of its fans.

its funny that neither of those two teams are at the top of either of their respective divisions in recruiting rankings, granted it will change but still all he is basing this off of is that they had good years and not so much the facts
I dont know where he comes off with that kind of statement. Saying essentially that LSU is a has been but still has name recognition is laughable.
UGA is at the top in the east in recruiting but Florida could pass them with who they might get and LSU is at the top in the west but Bama will not be able to surpass us.

I think the national perspective from many people is this:
Saban and Urban are 2 of the Elite coaches in all of CFB.. Combined with the fact that both coaches are at schools that have some pretty good history, making a ripe situation for big recruiting advantages. Notably UF has had about 18 years of pretty good football. Bama's history is really before all current recruits were even born. LOL!
None the Less, LSU is still the juggernaut in the West, and one season of BAMA going 12-1 has yet to unseat LSU as the daddy of the West.
Miles recruiting class proves this point.
America is a micro wave culture... what have you done for me lately.
I still say fear the hat..He is way more competitive than people perceive him publically.

Rivals just got about 20K more paid sign ups in Bama from that article. They know which side of the bread is buttered more.

It is after all a business fellas. Just like all the other listings and sites. Media's job is to stir the pot in whatever manner it takes to get the maximum play for their product. Rationally speaking, LSU's recruiting since 2000 rates on average around 6th in the country. Sustaining that type of average over the next 9 or 10 years will keep us in the hunt whether or not we are the current media darling's. (As in 2007)

I clearly remember there was a audio clip interviewing a rivals guy last year where he admitted that the Louisiana talent was not scouted/ranked correctly. The reasons he gave was that they didn't have the right people and didn't get the video of the LA and I believe MS kids so many were ranked much lower than they should have been (ie deangelo peterson, lavar edwards, etc). Take that into account and instead of the 11th ranked class we probably have a top 5. Maybe???
