Eastern Orthodox theologians refer to the church as Catholic.

Because there are two definitions of Catholic. One is the widely understood Catholic church. (Roman Catholic)

Websters has the other definition, I won't attempt to improve on it.

b
often capitalized : of, relating to, or forming the church universal
c
often capitalized : of, relating to, or forming the ancient undivided Christian church or a church claiming historical continuity from it

The Eastern Orthodox Church and the Roman Catholic Church split way back in 1054.

The biggest differences are that the Orthodox Church does not recognize the Pope, Orthodox priests can marry and have families, and they cross themselves U/D/R/L instead of U/D/L/R.

Also, there is no reciprocity for communion in either direction. Only Orthodox can receive it in an Orthodox church and they can't receive it anywhere else.
