re: How many good, old-fashioned fist-fights have you been in?

Not many. Last fight I was in was a decade ago. After a wedding in Ponte Vedra, a group of us went to a local bar. We were minding our own business when two drunk sawed off guys came over and started talking crap. They were really trying to instigate something. We’re wearing suits, had dates and kept trying get them to go in their way, but they persisted. One of them finally jumped my friend and the other looked at me and came right at me. Don’t know how I did it, because I’m a shitty fighter, but I was able to leverage and get the guy on the pool table and start wailing on him. Just connection after connection. Finally the bouncers came in and dragged the two dudes out. Came back and said they were actually DEA agents who come in regularly to burn off some steam.
Felt like kind of a badass knowing I got the better of a government agent.

Woke up the next morning and my right hand was swollen like a baseball glove. Had to cancel a tee time at Sawgrass because I couldn’t grip the gd club.

Again, I’m not any kind of fighter. Just happened to take advantage of the right place at the right time.
