There's not much public sentiment for a new baseball stadium or team here. Part of the reason is that having a stadium in that location would be a huge cluster F, especially traffic wise. The F1 race and the Super Bowl have already caused enough problems there,

Goodman is term limited. A new Mayor will be elected in November. She's just trying to put her final footprint on things as she's headed out the door.

Fans here aren't really into baseball unless betting is involved. They'd much rather have an NBA team come here.

Somewhat related, the LV Ballpark is hosting its inaugural College Baseball Classic from March 1st-3rd. Oklahoma, Ohio State, Pitt and Cal will play a series of 6 games over 3 days. If this becomes an annual event, I'd love to see LSU get involved. The park is easily the best minor league park going and it's in a great location on the NW side of the valley.
