Counter-counterpoint: What is the cost of lawsuits due to drivers killing a family while texting and driving versus cost of lost revenue because office jockeys are dicking off on the internet all day?

Based on the number of posts here (and social media in general) during the day I would bet that one is much higher than the other.

That’s a silly comparison.

1) The correct comparison would be between one “office jockey” and one driver.

2) I don’t which has a higher average cost (the average office worker’s nonproductive time vs. the average driver’s incident costs), but I’m fairly confident that most companies take the risk of vehicle accidents much more seriously. Especially when you start talking about drivers who drive on customer property / deliver to customer locations.

3) Do you really think office workers’ productivity isn’t being monitored? You don’t think companies have data on what websites employees are visiting, how they’re using their time throughout the workday, etc.?
