You don't seem to understand that Texas had the capacity to generate enough electricity, but because federal EPA Rules required a certain percentage to be generated by renewables (wind /solar) the green new deal Dims and Biden's DOE and EPA refused Texas'request to generate more from coal and natural gas. We had the capacity but the federal government told Texas there would be massive fines levied against the state if they increased output by taking advantage of this excess capacity at coal and gas power plants.

I blame Abbott for backing down. He only just recently found his balls, though, so maybe he's learned that Fed Gov is not his friend.
